(Nashville, TN) January 25, 2016 – Singer, songwriter, classically trained pianist and acclaimed actress
ALICIA WITT has announced her role as Autumn, a strong-willed country music icon, in the newest season of the ABC show,
Nashville.
The official description of her character notes that "Autumn" is, "a respected singer who’s paid her dues and who’s managed to both cross over to pop, and thrive in the era of bro country. Autumn can do it all, and does, because she’s dedicated her life to it. Women want to be her and men want to be with her. Never married, but perpetually involved, Autumn struggles to find real love in her life. When you’re as famous as she is, it’s hard to find men who aren’t threatened by her, or sold on the fantasy.”
The role is fitting for Witt, who teamed up with Ben Folds at RCA Records to record and produce
REVISIONARY HISTORY, an album of poignant, piano-driven pop rock that draws comparisons to Billy Joel and Carole King.
Revisionary History, Alicia's first full-length studio album, was released on May 5th through Compass Records. In addition to her role in
Nashville, 2016 will also bring a showcase at South By Southwest. For more information on her performance in Austin, click
